Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a deep understanding of deaf culture
• Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in school settings
• Ability to interpret in real-time for students, staff, and families during classes, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Certification such as EIPA, NIC, or state licensure preferred
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and effective interpretation between spoken English and ASL for students, faculty, and staff throughout the school day
• Work alongside educators to support the instructional and social needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students
• Prepare for classes and assignments by reviewing lesson materials and relevant vocabulary
• Participate in educational meetings, parent conferences, and workshops as needed
• Maintain proper records and documentation of interpreting assignments and student progress
• Foster an inclusive environment that supports the success and well-being of all students
